Hello, and welcome to Cacoethes Caedendi, the first-ever (we think) PPC manga! We hope you enjoy the artwork and story, and constructive criticism is always welcome!

bubonicwoodchuk and

arcticfox547 are overworked high school students that shouldn't really have too much time on their hands, given the nature of their courses, but somehow, against all odds, do.

Aside from PPCing,

bubonicwoodchuk enjoys ~~long walks on the beach~~ reading historical fiction, sleeping, and drinking coffee.

arcticfox547 likes photography, reading, fencing, and not doing Calculus.

Q. What is this exactly?
A. Cacoethes Caedendi is a comic drawn by bubonicwoodchuk and arcticfox547 in the manga style - or at least an attempt at the manga style. It is firstly an attempt at adapting the typical PPC mission into a different format, and secondly an attempt to improve our own drawing abilities.

Q. What's this "PPC" of which you speak?
A. The Protectors of the Plot Continuum is an organization dedicated to fighting badly written fanfiction in all of its incarnations. You can find out more about them here.

Q. Isn't this technically copyright infringement?
A. Nope! This is a parody. In other words, it's - at least according to the U.S. Supreme Court - "the use of some elements of a prior author's composition to create a new one that, at least in part, comments on that author's works." That means we're protected by the fair use doctrine and therefore not committing copyright infringement.

Besides, fanfiction in itself is technically copyright infringement - but that's a can of worms we're not willing to open.

Q. What does the title of your manga mean, anyway?
A. "Cacoethes caedendi" is Latin for "an insatiable urge to kill."

...we think. Neither of us actually studied Latin in school. If you have, and it's wrong, and you know how to correct it, by all means let us know. :)

Q. What fic are you PPCing right now?
A. Currently, the intended target is Kimi Mitsu from The Delicate Crystal Alchemist. It's a whopper of a mission - three exorcisms and an assassination are required. After that - well, we'll see. We're not even sure we'll finish this one as it is. *grins*
